Evaluating a source

"Division of Korea," By Wikipedia

I trust this source is reliable because the purpose of the site was informational and educational. This makes the article more trustworthy because the readers go on the site to find data and history. Readers also use it for academic support. The site itself is well known and popular to the world for informational purposes. Additionally, I know the site to have exceptional awareness, and understanding of the information it's given. I consider this source to be reliable.
These are a few significant facts from the source: After the ending of the empire of Japan's 35-year colonial rule of Korea by General order No. 1 in 1945, the division of Korea had begun. During this period of two years between the fall of 1945 and the fall of 1947, in the absence of the opportunity to set up an undivided government, the two separate governments had been evolving and consolidating in the south and in the north. The United States and the Soviet Union agreed to temporarily involve the country trusteeship with the zone of control along the 38th parallel. The purpose of this trusteeship was to establish a Korean provisional government which would become "free and independent in due course", introducing it at the Cairo Conference. A Communist state was permanently established under Soviet control in the north and a pro-Western state was set up in the south.
